Kids Club

It’s never too early to teach children the value of saving. Opening a Kids Club savings account is a great way to celebrate a birthday, Christmas or any occasion. Membership in our Kids Club is automatic for any member age 12 and under. 

Growing and Changing to Serve Our Youngest Members

A lot has changed since we introduced our Moola Kids Club many years ago.  Families are busier, kids are involved in more fun activities, and investing in the future - and cherishing time together - has become even more important.

That's why we've recently made some updates to our Kids Club. To help families save and teach their children about saving, to give them an opportunity to spend time together and to make visiting BCU fun.  

Now, when parents start a biweekly direct deposit (or increase a current direct deposit) of $25 or more into their child's account, we will deposit a $25 reward into your child's account.*  Plus, we will begin offering occasional discounts and tickets to area attractions as well as providing savings tips to parents and treats to kids who visit the branch.

We are so happy to serve our BCU family members - of all ages!

*A one-time $25 reward will be deposited after two consecutive direct deposits have been received.

Smart Savings Tips!

Age 3-6

• Help your kids save change, dollars and money gifts in a piggy bank
• Talk to your kids about the different values of the money in their piggy bank
• Take your kids to BCU and talk to them about how you keep your money at the credit union!  

Age 7-9

• Talk to your kids about wants vs. needs.  Together, come up with some examples of each.
• Help your kids count the money in their piggy bank.  How much do they want to keep to spend and how much do they want to save?  Encourage them to deposit the amount they want to save into their BCU Kids Club account!

Age 10-12

• The time may be right to introduce an allowance.  Allowances can help kids learn responsibility and manage money.  Plus, with a little income, your child can start setting small goals for saving and spending which will help establish great habits for the future.
