The Payday Loan Trap - Don't Get Caught
You need money—$300 to be exact. You feel like you have no alternative, and the cash on those billboards is inviting. So you visit a payday loan outlet.
How Much are you Paying for that Loan?
If you want to borrow $300 from a payday lender, you pay a fee, usually $20 per $100 that you borrow. So you write a check to the payday lender for $360.
At the end of the two weeks, if you're like most people, you have to roll the loan over and pay another $60. The $120 you pay to borrow $300 for one month translates into a 520% annual percentage rate (APR).

ATM Cards - Powerful Plastics!
Want 7/24 access to your money? That's seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
You can have it with a plastic card that lets you withdraw cash and check your account balances through an ATM (automated teller machine).
Going to another country? Remember to pack your ATM card. Here's why.
ATMs have been around longer than you have, but they got off to a slow start. Although ATMs debuted in the early '70s, some folks were apprehensive of going to a machine to make deposits, get cash, and check account balances. You might find this hard to believe, but people were used to lobbies and drive-up windows where only human tellers handled their financial business.
Gradually, people began using ATMs and discovered the convenience of 7/24. Today, you can find ATMs almost everywhere--at many credit unions, banks, airports, malls, grocery stores, and other public places
